Cemeteries are good places – right?

When I decided that I needed to spend time in a country cemetery as research for Book #3 I tapped into Google Maps to find this gem hidden in that magical part of South Australia called the Fleurieu Peninsula.

For two mornings I wandered, pondered and read…  listened to nothing but silence and the occasional burst of birdsong before I finally departed (for want of a better word) with precisely what I needed to write.

Crammed with stories dating back to 1866 of life and death, hope and despair, wealth and disadvantage… and modestly but lovingly maintained this place brought joyous and tragic reminders that some people spend many long years on this earth and others leave us far too early.
