Children keep you young – right? Wrong!

I’ve been having fun at schools with ‘Act for Kids’, teaching protective behaviours to five year olds. A couple of weeks ago I was working with a dark haired cutie at her desk.

Me: This writing is too small for me. I’ll have to get my glasses.
Dark haired cutie: That’s because you’re old.

Mm. Anyway… Teaching kids protective behaviours is one of the most important things parents and teachers can do to keep them safe. ‘Act for Kids’ does astoundingly important work in making sure as many children as possible have this opportunity. Visit their site and see what I mean.

Last week, after chatting with her friends grandmother, my 5-year-old turned to me and said “she’s gonna die soon, because she’s really old.” Thank goodness we’d crossed the road already!

This makes me realise what the 5 year old said to me could have been a lot worse ? And 5 year olds don’t lie. Thanks for sharing this brilliant story Renee xx
